E-mail attachments may contain viruses.
Almost everyday there is a new threat to the security of your on-line computing. That is why we want to remind you how important it really is that every computer, you use, has a working an updated anti-virus client running at all times. This anti-virus software will help secure your computer from viruses that are spread via the Internet and e-mail every day.
Many of these viruses are extremely crafty and attempt to use social engineering techniques to get the user to "open" and run them. For instance, some viruses spread themselves automatically to email addresses that you have saved in your contact list and will actually claim to be virus free by claiming to have been scanned by a server.
Sometimes even up-to-date virus software will miss catching a really new virus or a new strain of an existing virus. If you are un-sure, then error on the side of caution and do not open the attachment, or call the person who sent you the file and verify they did indeed send it to you prior to opening.
